Dr. Randy Neuharth is currently in his tenth year as the Director of Bands and Instrumental Activities at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska. His duties include directing the Community/College Concert Band and two Jazz Bands. Dr. Neuharth also teaches music theory and music appreciation, music technology classes, applied instrumental lessons and jazz improvisation.
Dr. Neuharth has 35 years of teaching experience in Nebraska and South Dakota including 26 years teaching in public schools.

Originally from Eureka, SD, Dr. Neuharth earned B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from South Dakota State University and his Ed. D. from the University of South Dakota.

Dr. Neuharth is active as a performer and plays trombone in the Northeast Area Jazz Ensemble, A Touch of Brass as well as jazz combos and rock bands in the northeast Nebraska and southeast South Dakota area. Dr. Neuharth is also active as a clinician and adjudicator in South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
Dr. Neuharth is a member of NSBA, NMEA, MENC, CBDNA, NBA, NEA, NSEA, Phi Beta Mu, and has served on the NSBA board as awards chairmen.

Steve Steager teaches Instrumental Music at Fremont Middle School. He received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1986 and his Masters Degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago in 1994. Previously, he taught at Schuyler Central High School from 1986-1989. The Schuyler Central High School band earned 1st place trophies in parade, marching and concert band at the Red River Exhibition in Winnipeg, Canada in 1989. The Fremont Junior High Band performed for the NSBA state convention in 1996 and the Fremont Middle School Tiger Band performed for the NSBA state convention in 2010. The Fremont Middle School Jazz Band performed for the NMEA state convention in 2001.

Mr. Steager has served as a session clinician for both the NSBA and NMEA conventions, has conducted honor bands in Nebraska and has judged numerous contests. Mr. Steager was also the Band Director at Midland Lutheran College from 1997-2003. During those years, the Midland band toured many surrounding states, including Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Texas, and South Dakota. He taught brass methods, low brass lessons and conducted the Midland College Band (at the same time as teaching at Fremont Middle School).

Steve also taught at the Wayne State Music Camp and Jazz Band Camp, assisting with the concert band, jazz band, low brass lessons and all state audition preparation.
While at UNO, Steve was the first tuba player to win the James B. Peterson Concerto Competition and was the first chair tuba in the intercollegiate band three consecutive years. Currently, Steve plays tuba professionally in the Palladium Brass Quintet, the Omaha Brass Ensemble, and The Plymouth Brass. He also played principal tuba in the Lincoln Symphony from 2007-2008, 2008-2009 concert seasons. He has been a substitute performer with the Omaha Symphony and has performed with the onstage band in the musical “Chicago”.

Steve and his wife, Debbie, have three children, Joshua (21), Jeremiah (19) and Michaela (15). All three are past members of the 8th grade All State Band; Joshua-trumpet, Jeremiah-Euphonium, Michaela-Horn. Jeremiah is currently marching in the UNL band, playing tuba.

Brad Weber started his teaching career at Emerson-Hubbard Community Schools and was there for 9 years. He is currently completing his 24th year as the Director of Bands at Wayne High School. He has also been a Adjunct Faculty Member at Wayne State College, teaching percussion since 1984. He has been the Director for the Nebraska Masonic All-Star Marching Band at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 1999. Previously, Mr. Weber has on the NSBA Board as the Secretary, Membership Chairman, and served NMEA as the Chair of Band Affairs.

Mr. Weber has received many awards over his 33 year tecahing career, most notably NSBA's highest award, the “Donald A. Lentz Outstanding Bandmaster Award” in 2009. Other awards include: “The Certificate of Merit for Marching Excellence” from the National Band Association, the Norfolk Lavitsef Celebration’s Community Excellence “Outstanding Citizen” Award for Wayne, the Mid State Conference Coach/Sponsor of the year Award in Instrumental Music, Educator Of The Year by the Wayne Area Chamber Of Commerce, and a Charter member of the Nebraska chapter of the Phi Beta Mu International School Bandmaster Fraternity.

He has remained an active performer and at one time was the Principal Percussionist in the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra in Sioux City, IA , Laramie Municipal Concert Band in Laramie, WY, and the Substitute Trap-Set Drummer for the Columbus Jazz Orchestra in Columbus, NE. Mr. Weber is a member of NEA, MENC, NMEA, NSBA, Phi Delta Kappa, Phi Beta Mu, Percussive Arts Society, and NBA.

Brad and his wife Deb, who is employed in the Counseling Center at Wayne State College, have three daughters. Melissa who is employed at Security National Bank and lives in Omaha, NE. with her husband Travis Woockman, employed at the Creighton Cardiac Center. They have a two year old daughter Brynn and newborn daughter Olivia. Megan Flohr and her husband Ron live in Lincoln, NE and Megan teaches at Eagle Elementary School in the Waverly District 145 School System and Ron is employed at Eye Care Specialties. Micaela Weber is a Senior at Wayne State College and is currently student teaching in the South Sioux City Public School System.

Ms. Whitney Jones is in her fifth year of teaching Instrumental Music for Boone Central Public Schools, Albion/Petersburg campuses. Her teaching assignments include 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th/8th Grade Bands and High School Marching, Concert, Jazz and Pep Bands as well as individual lessons for all levels, 8th Grade Music Appreciation and ACT Prep.

Whitney is a native of Lincoln, NE where she received her Bachelor of Music Education degree with high distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University in May of 2007.

Whitney is an active member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA), Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA), serves as secretary for Boone Central Education Association, and Safety Director for Boone Central Schools. Whitney is also a member of the Albion Volunteer Fire Department as a First Responder with the rescue squad.

She resides in Albion, where she is an active violinist performing for local churches, clubs, organizations and weddings. Whitney has maintained a private violin studio since 2003.

Joann Couton is currently in her 25th year of teaching instrumental music at Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo. She also teaches 5th and 6th Grade Bands at St. Wenceslaus School in Wahoo and St. John Nepomucene School in Weston. Previously she taught at Raymond Central and Exeter. She earned her Bachelor in Music Education degree from Doane College and has completed post-graduate work at both the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and Kearney.
She instituted and has hosted the Bishop Neumann Elementary / Junior High Music Contest for the past seventeen years for vocal and instrumental solos and small ensembles. Five years ago she started the Bishop Neumann National Anthem Singers ensemble and has had that group selected to perform at four NSAA State Championship games and at the 2006 College World Series.
A recent recipient of the Howard Hansen Award from the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce for contributions to the musical, cultural, and performing arts of the community, her bands have consistently received excellent and superior ratings at state, district, and local contests. Joann has served as a staff member for the 2005 and 2009 Nebraska Ambassadors of Music European Tour, and has served as a clinician and adjudicator at several local events.
Her professional memberships include NSBA, NMEA, the National Band Association, Women Band Directors International, and National Catholic Band Association. She has previously served NSBA as Public Relations Chair and is currently serving in her third term as treasurer as Treasurer.
